The FX series Alien, helmed by Fargo and Legion creator Noah Hawley, is set to start up production again early next year in Bangkok, Thailand, and we’ve got some news on what actors will be making the trip.
We already knew that the show, which takes place on Earth at roughly the same time as Prometheus, has Sydney Chandler on board in a lead role. According to Deadline, however, Timothy Olyphant (Justified, Deadwood, and The Book of Boba Fett, pictured above.) will be starring with her in an officially undisclosed role.
Will Olyphant, who has made a name for himself playing lawmen of varying dispositions and moral persuasions, take on another sheriff-type role here? According to Deadline’s sources, he will not. Instead of being the enforcer of law and order, he will portray “Kirsh, a synth who acts as a mentor and trainer.” Alas.
We also get some additional details on Chandler’s role, in that she’ll play a meta-human named Wendy, a being with the body of an adult but the brain of a child. Because why not.
Deadline has also broke the news that Fargo’s David Rysdahl is joining the production in an undisclosed role. He’ll be joining the larger cast, which includes Alex Lawther, Samuel Blenkin, Essie Davis, Adarsh Gourav, and Kit Young.
No news yet on when the series will make its way to FX. But given they’ll be in production early next year, we’re likely looking at late 2024 or early 2025.
